OK, OK

I know I haven't exactly started my fitness regime properly... I was out last night at a colleague's leaving do for example.

I am, however, playing Sven at squash tomorrow and I'm about to go to the gym. That's right, you read it correctly: I'm going to the gym now.

Oh and as of last night's drunkenness, I now have a bet on with another colleague: over the next three months, she has to lose one stone in weight and I have to shed two. The loser has to pay for dinner in L'Escargot...

Nothing like a bet to motivate. That's a big challenge, better put our boozy lunch with Ed back until you're done then eh!

Yeah and I've got a booze run to France lined up for late September...

Moderation in all things is the main lesson I've learned. Better than cutting stuff out completely - and far easier to manage at least for me. And the other lesson - if you indulge in one area, either cut back in another - or do lots more exercising!

Two stone in three months?! I don't want to demotivate you but that is some serious going. And I know what I'm talking about - I lost three stone. I'm sure there are others who also know what that's like too.

GOOD LUCK and if I can help with tips and suggestions, let me know.

One quick bit of advice ... Colonic!
